Application Virtualization

Nuvola provides Application virtualization technology that enables applications to be delivered to client devices and run in a protected, virtual environment.  The applications do not need to be locally installed on client computers, but are instead run from our Data Center. When applications are virtualized  they run directly from our servers while the local computer’s operating system, file system or registry are not changed at all. Computing resources are allocated based on changing requirements in real time. By virtualizaing we provide the means and Technology  that helps IT departments reduce the complexity of testing, deploying, updating, and removing applications.

We offer two variants, the first one is via Terminal services which is a server-based application virtualization. also known as terminal services wherein the applications run on our servers and users receive the application environment display through a remote client display protocol. The second option is that of client-based application virtualization (application streaming) where the target application is packaged and streamed to a client PC and it has its own application computing environment that is isolated from the client OS and other applications, for this option we use Citrix Xenapp that is a proven technology used by more than 100 million users around the world.    Learn More >>

Desktop Virtualization

Nuvola leverages the power of VMware View™ 4 for delivering customers with desktops from the datacenter as a secure, managed service. The service is Built on VMware vSphere™ for Desktops, that is one of the best platforms designed specifically for desktop virtualization.  Desktop Virtualization is also known as Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) where enterprise desktop computers are virtualized, moved to the data center, then presented over the LAN or WAN to the end users.

Compared with Terminal Services, the VDI experience is closer to that of desktop PC. With Terminal Services, users log in to one of many sessions hosted by the same Windows server, resulting in a generic desktop environment. With VDI, users log into a specific Windows Virtual Machine running on VMware and enjoy a separate, personalized Windows experience that preserves any user customizations.  Nuvola offers many of the same benefits at the desktop level that it does at the server level. Virtual Machine snapshots, live Virtual Machine migration between hosts, automated load balancing, and storage migrations all come in to play.

With our solution we can provision desktops that are built from a common image. Instead of creating one image for each user we create images corresponding to various user profiles – for example, an image for operations, an image for sales, and an image for finance. As users in those groups log in, their VDI instance is mapped to a new Virtual Machine instantly or pulled from a pool of available Virtual Machines suited for the task. With the requisite group policies, drive mappings, and roaming profiles,  Other benefit is application compatibility, since each desktop Virtual Machine is isolated from the rest and consumes a pre-configured amount of resources, there’s no danger of applications and users stepping on one another.  In summary, from the user’s perspective, nothing changes.
